Brett Barrett is an academic and hospital pharmacist specializing in infectious disease. She holds a BScH from Queen’s University and a BScPhm from the University of Toronto. As a faculty member at the University of Waterloo School of Pharmacy, Brett has spent more than a decade imparting her knowledge and expertise to future pharmacists, teaching a diverse range of topics including the Pharmacists’ Patient Care Process, institutional pharmacy practice, and infectious disease pharmacotherapy. With over twenty years of experience as a hospital pharmacist, Brett integrates real-world insights into her teaching and mentorship. Her commitment to quality teaching was recognized in 2021 when she was awarded the Excellence in Pharmacy Teaching award. In addition to her clinical and academic responsibilities, Brett currently serves as the School’s Teaching Fellow, charged with promoting excellence in teaching among faculty members.
