Wound care and first aid simplified (1 CEU)

The skin is the largest organ in the body, and yet, it is often the most overlooked organ in terms of recognizing its role and function. Skin is an indicator that an individual’s health is changing and that there may be larger concerns. By the end of this session, pharmacists will be better equipped to support skin health in our communities. By recognizing people who are at risk of wounds, pharmacists can have targeted conversations in wound prevention. Further, when people present with wounds, pharmacists will be better able to make recommendations and support wound healing by identifying “what the wound needs” and “what the person with a wound needs.”
